Edinburgh’s only Michelin star restaurant with rooms, 21212, has received a Foder’s Best award for one of The Very Best Edinburgh Hotels in City Centre.

The expert travel guide chose 21212 as one of the top five recipients of the title out of a number of outstanding hotels within Edinburgh’s city centre.

Other venues named included The Balmoral, The Witchery and The Glasshouse.

This adds to the prestigious titles awarded this year including being named one of CNN’s Best Restaurants with Rooms in the World.

Co-founder of 21212, Katie O’Brien said:

Guest experience is always at the heart of 21212. We only have four guest rooms at 21212 so to be recognised by such an established travel body and to be chosen as one of the best hotels in Edinburgh is quite an honour. We’d like to thank all of our loyal guests who continue to sing our praises. They will always remain our focus.

Thomas Talarico of Foder’s Travel Guides said:

While every hotel listed in a Fodor’s guide is deemed worthy of a traveller’s time, only those offering a truly distinctive experience are given the Fodor’s Best designation. The Fodor’s Best hotel recipients are the best of the best providing a remarkable experience in their category.

21212 was praised for the quality of the guest rooms that match the standard of Paul Kitching’s Michelin-star cuisine.

Every year, the editors and experts of Fodor’s evaluate thousands of hotels across the globe. 21212 was chosen as recipients of this award by a number of writers and editors from Edinburgh.

21212 will receive special recognition on Foders.com in Edinburgh’s Very Best Hotels in City Centre.

21212 is a Michelin star restaurant based on Royal Terrace, Edinburgh. Chef Paul Kitching, and his partner Katie, opened 21212 in 2009 and have been attracting visitors from far and wide ever since. Paul’s theatrical dining experience and unique take on produce earned them a Michelin star soon after opening.
