Next stop after a (recommended) detour through Dornoch past Grannies Heilan Hame was Dunrobin Castle
Well worth a visit (adults £10.50) – Dramatically perched on the firth with amazing views
View out of the dirty castle window – freezing in the castle but lovely and warm outside
The gardens must be wonderful in summer.  Also top left of the picture is where the Falconry displays take place.

Monday

Before we hit the road and with it being such a glorious morning we decided to have a walk round the Islands.  A beautiful river walk in the heart of Inverness.
Wibbly Wobbly bridges!

Lovely river and castle views.

Time to hit the road and head home via the Moray Whisky trail but more about that another time!

We did manage to stop for a very late lunch at The Mountain Café in Aviemore.  Read our review here.
