Welcome to The Boys Eat Scotland
Many thanks for popping by our “Boys Eat Scotland” blog. We absolutely love food and depending on time and finances try to eat out as often as possible! We love trying new bars and restaurants but were at risk of falling into the trap of always going to our usual haunts. Our blog challenges us to try different restaurants and cooking styles and to keep track of our adventures as we go.
We can’t wait to share with you our foodie and travel experiences as we travel around Scotland and beyond. It might be drinks and bar snacks, lunch, afternoon tea, casual pub grub, dinner in one of our top restaurants or a weekend break in the Highlands. We are partners in life, business and crime (well not really crime!)
After checking out of corporate life 16 years ago, we owned a food shop/deli in Edinburgh for 7 years until we sold it in 2015. We currently run our Boys Eat Scotland Scottish Directory and Blog, and Donnie’s Tablet Shed and Highland Favours from Isle of Skye.
Self-employed life is hectic and our travel and foodie experiences are a real source of relaxation and chill out time.
We also have two Jackapoos – Angus and Robbie and we love finding new doggie friendly places that they can enjoy too.
All opinions in the blog are our own, and we always like to pay for the drinks and meals out of our own hard earned cash. However sometimes we receive invitations to try new restaurant or hotels so if we are invited as a guest or are in receipt of any benefits we will be sure to document in our posts!
We love eating out! We appreciate great service and lovely surroundings. We also love a bargain and don’t believe that good food has to be complicated or expensive.

In November 2017 we were over the moon to win the Most Dedicated Food Blogger Award at the inaugural Scotsman Food and Drink Awards.
In May 2018 we awarded Blogger of the Year in The Scottish Food Awards and Academy. The last three years have been so difficult for the hospitality industry but hopefully we will see a return to normal food costs, staffing and energy bills soon.
We look forward to sharing our journey with you.

I love your little food stories and I’m a follower of you Facebook page for a while. I’m sure you get a lot of requests, however if you’re anytime near Dunning in Perthshire, maybe you can visit The Kirkstyle Inn. We are regular visitors of Dunning and this is a real nice little gem in the Countryside.
