Exciting things have been happening at Heaven Scent in Milnathort so we decided to pop along and have a wee look through the fridge door to see what was going on.
Heaven Scent is a lovely airy coffee shop in the heart of Milnathort, serving breakfasts, soups, sandwiches, cakes and tray bakes. The menu looked very enticing so we decided to stop for lunch.
I selected a Tuna salad sandwich with a crisp salad and Raymond went for the soup and a sandwich combo with Goats Cheese and Chutney. The café offers a choice of different breads and rolls so you can order your sandwich made just as you like it.
The well presented hearty sandwiches and soup were both delicious and the fresh side salad and crisps welcome additions. I just love it when you get crisps with your sandwich – it makes such a difference.
Sitting in the café you will notice the SMEG fridge door suspended on the wall. It turns out that this isn’t the fridge where the soup, tuna or goats cheese were stored rather this is the entry door to Heavens Above!
Heavens Above has recently been created as the ideal venue for afternoon tea, supper club, high teas and can also be booked for private hire .
We didn’t dine in one of the three newly refurbished rooms upstairs, but hope to go back soon to sample the delights of the Supper Club.
The Supper Club menu changes weekly and with around 4 or 5 choices for each course there should be something for everyone. The supper club for the week we visited featured Jack Daniels glazed chicken wings with celery sticks and blue cheese to start, braised beef shin and creamy mash with roasted turnip for mains and then homemade classic apple crumble with custard or ice cream to finish.
Above is the menu for 4th June, so that you can see the great variation on offer. With 2 courses for £15 and 3 courses for £19.50 this could become a regular haunt for locals and commuters alike
We have become friends with Heaven Scent on Facebook as it provides excellent updates on all the events being held, so pop over and like them to keep up to date!
If you are in need of a bite to eat and passing Milnathort be sure to pop in. I’m ashamed to say that I had seen the sign for Milnathort many times but never stopped off. It’s just 1 minute from the motorway so an ideal stop between Perth and Edinburgh.
