Listing Description

The Wine House 1821 has opened on Picardy Place in the heart of the new St James Quarter in Edinburgh’s New Town and is the creation of acclaimed restaurateur, Sep Marini and one of Italy’s most renowned wine houses, Zonin1821.

Effortlessly blending Georgian heritage with an abundance of modern twists and sophisticated, bespoke design, The Wine House 1821 features a cocktail bar and wine bar, designed by world-renowned architect Claudio Silvestrin, four ultra-glam boutique bedrooms and an elegant event suite.

Dominating the ground floor, The Wine House bar is illuminated with energy and light with massive picture windows overlooking the bustling streetscape of the soon to be St James Quarter and serves up an impressive collection of over 130 wines by the bottle and a myriad by the glass. Other tastes are generously catered for with an eclectic array of innovative cocktails and refined interpretations of the classics, plus a huge range of spirits and Italian beers. A simple menu offers the perfect accompaniments, with a selection of Italian sharing platters and light bites.

We can confirm that the cocktails are great!   We had a Negroni and a Donna Dolce and will definitely go back to try more of their other cocktail creations.
