The Festival’s Best Kept Secret
Amidst the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh in August, Festival-goers are being offered a rare and unique opportunity to enjoy Scotland’s greatest art treasures after hours.
Gallery Suppers will give a special group after-hours access to the Scottish National Gallery’s world-class collection of masterpieces.
After the public have left the building, guests will be treated to a Prosecco reception and art expert tour and talk. That will be followed by a 3-course seasonal menu in the award-winning Scottish Cafe & Restaurant.
Specially selected to showcase Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink 2015, the supper will include haggis canapés, Phantassie Farm cauliflower soup, Roast Scottish Salmon with broad beans from the restaurant’s own kitchen garden, all followed by Cranachan with Scottish cream, raspberries and Glenlivet Whisky.
“Edinburgh in August can be an incredibly busy place so we want these Gallery Suppers to offer a different experience with unique access to the finest art and food Scotland has to offer”, said Scottish Café & Restaurant owner Carina Contini.
Tickets for the three Gallery Suppers on Wednesday 5th, 12th and 26th August cost £50 per person and must be booked in advance on events@contini.com or via 0131 225 1550.
