In 2006, husband and wife Craig and Vikki Wood opened their first restaurant in North Queensferry offering simple good food and fine wine in the picturesque Fife village.

Nestled under the Forth Rail Bridge the 40-cover restaurant serves dishes based around the seasons, cooked with care and passion. Chef Craig aims to showcase the great ingredients available in Scotland. One of the most popular dishes on the menu, and one that has been a permanent fixture since opening is Craig’s recipe for Shetland mussels with bacon, basil, pine nuts and Parmesan cream.

The Wee Restaurant

Vikki said:

We moved to North Queensferry 13 years ago to open our first restaurant and were welcomed with open arms. From day one we’ve loved being part of this community, not only serving the locals, but also being able to offer something special to visitors from far and wide.

Whilst Craig looks after the kitchens, Vikki manages both the North Queensferry restaurant, and the second Wee Restaurant that opened in Edinburgh in 2016, placing a huge emphasis on excellent customer service. With a loyal and retained core of staff, Vikki ensures the dining experience is relaxed and friendly.

Vikki continued:

Of course people visit us for the wonderful dishes Craig creates, but the reason we see people return again and again is down to the service. We always offer the warmest of welcomes and strive to exceed expectations. We love looking after people.

The Wee Restaurant opens for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday offering an a la carte menu, as well as a set price ‘menu du jour’ at lunchtime and mid-week dinner.

The Wee Restaurant won ‘Restaurant of the Year (Casual Dining)’ at the SLTN Awards in 2014, and Craig was Catering Scotland’s ‘Chef of the Year’ in 2015.
