Fairmont St Andrews promises a day to remember with a Royal Afternoon Tea and a live screening of the Royal Wedding hosted in the hotel’s glass-roofed Atrium Lounge.
Invited to dress for the occasion, guests will arrive from 11 am to the Atrium Lounge where they will be seated and offered a selection of canapés followed by a sumptuous menu of traditional finger sandwiches, delicate afternoon tea treats, exclusively designed by the hotel’s Executive Chef.
The signature ‘wedding cake’ selection will feature blueberry violette cake, traditional fruitcake with royal icing, mara de Boise Victorian sponge, grand cru chocolate velvet cake, and to top it off, a 24-carat chocolate soft-centred fondant.
The centrepiece of the Atrium Lounge will feature an oversized wedding cake flavoured with Lemon Elderflower, a replica on the one guests at the actual royal wedding will enjoy. Diners will be able to take a slice away with them in a branded box and their menu as a memento of the special day.
Starting at £50.00 per person, the Royal Afternoon Tea menu will offer the traditional favourites, including a range of teas served with finger sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream and jam – all served on tiered cake stands.
British Royalty has a long history with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts; a history at the core of Fairmont’s identity, reflecting the high standards of service and luxury in which Fairmont takes pride.
Fairmont St Andrews is no stranger to members of the British Royal Family either. It was during a St Andrews University Fashion Show in 2001 hosted at the resort, where Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, famously caught the eye of His Royal Highness Prince William whilst they were both studying in the medieval town.
Fairmont St Andrews will be celebrating the upcoming wedding between HRH Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle this May with a Royal Afternoon Tea.
