Brewgooder is a craft beer with a difference – it donates 100% of its profits to clean water charities around the world. The brand is celebrating its first birthday on 22 March which also happens to be World Water Day, so what better time to support Brewgooder’s ethos – drink beer, give water.

The brainchild of two Scottish entrepreneurs, Alan Mahon and Josh Littlejohn, every penny made by Brewgooder, goes towards digging wells in developing countries. The ultimate mission is to provide clean drinking water to 1 million people around the world. To date the social enterprise has managed to install water pumps at the in remote villages in Dedza and Phililongwe, Malawi, providing 5,000 people with clean drinking water.

Made with crystal malts and a completely unique blend of Sorachi Ace and Saaz hops, Brewgooder has a crisp, refreshing pilsner style taste with hints of subtle lemon and banana leaving a moreish and smooth finish.

Alan Mahon, co-founder of Brewgooder, said: “650 million people live without access to safe drinking water. It is a basic necessity that we take for granted in the UK, and World Water Day is a great opportunity to focus our attention on those who need our help most.

“There’s something nice about drinking good beer while providing clean drinking water, and using beer to drive such an ambitious and important social mission has never been done before. All profits made from selling Brewgooder go directly to the Brewgooder Foundation, where we distribute funds to clean water projects around the world.

World Water Day is also our birthday. We’ve had a great first year but we really want to take our impact to the tens of thousands in 2017”
