St Andrews resort has ‘the perfect tonic’ for World Gin Day
As the Scottish gin trade continues to flourish, the five, red-star Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa in St Andrews reveals plans for their first Scottish Gin Festival.
The ‘Road Hole Gin Festival’ takes place on Sunday 12th June … the perfect follow on from the World Gin Day celebrations on the same weekend.

Sponsored by local, St Andrews Distillery, Eden.Mill, the Festival welcomes gin distillers from up and down the country to the resort’s iconic fourth floor Road Hole Bar.
Stalls throughout the fourth floor will see exhibitors including The Botanist, Gin Bothy, Caorunn, Bombay Sapphire, No.3, Bols Genever, Rock Rose, Eden.Mill, and Firkin. The experts in tonic at Summer House Drinks will also on hand to teach the perfect serve.
Cocktail demos will take place hourly throughout day, alongside ‘gin masterclasses’ in a dedicated Sensory Botanical Room. Here, guests will learn more about the perfect gin food pairings and the construction behind the spirit.
The resort’s general manager, Stephen Carter OBE, comments: “70% of gin produced in the UK is made right here in Scotland, and it’s a trend that shows no signs of slowing. The Road Hole Gin Festival aims to celebrate all things juniper, and will give our guests and visitors the chance to experience and hear from some the country’s leading gin distillers whilst enjoying our five, red-star hospitality.”
The Festival closes with an exclusive Eden.Mill Gin Dinner on Sunday night. Dinner guests will hear from Eden.Mill owner Paul Miller: “We are delighted to sponsor the inaugural Road Hole Gin Festival, and look forward to a fabulous day of events. The very idea for Eden.Mill was born in the Old Course Hotel – it all came about whilst mulling over some ideas in the Road Hole Bar, so we feel very at home here!”
The dinner will begin just as Paul did, with drinks and canapés at 7pm in the Road Hole Bar, before sitting down to a three course feast, created by the resort’s award-winning team of Chefs, led by Executive Chef, Martin Hollis. Each course is paired with a different Eden.Mill gin.
